Entry requirements

Germans and many other European nationals can enter the country without a visa for short-term stays of up to 90 days a year for tourism purposes only. From 01.04.2025, however, a tourist visa for 1600N$ per person must be purchased upon entry. Travel documents (passport, temporary passport, children's passport) must be valid for at least six months beyond the trip at the time of entry and contain at least two free pages for endorsements. The child's passport must not have been extended.

With reference to the entry regulations of neighboring countries, it is currently common practice at Namibian border control points to check the custody status of underage children when entering and leaving the country. Persons under the age of 18 must be able to present an international birth certificate in English in addition to their (children's) passport, in which both parents are listed. If minors are not traveling with both parents, additional documents are required.

If you have been in a yellow fever area before entering the country, you must provide proof of a yellow fever vaccination. There is an exception for transit travelers whose transfer time does not exceed twelve hours.
