Entry requirements
Germans and many other European nationals do not require a visa for short-term tourist, visiting or business trips to South Africa. On presentation of a valid return flight ticket, a visitor's visa will be issued on entry for the duration of the planned trip, for a maximum of 90 days. Personal travel documents (passport, temporary passport or children's passport) must be valid for at least 30 days beyond the date of departure and have at least two free pages for visa stamps. Sufficient pages for visa stamps must also be available for onward travel to neighboring countries and subsequent return to South Africa.
Children's passports must not be extended. If minors are not traveling with both biological parents, they must carry additional documents.
If you have been in a yellow fever area before entering the country, you must provide proof of a yellow fever vaccination. There is an exception for transit travelers whose transfer time does not exceed twelve hours.
