ABOUT THIS TRIP

The combination of Kruger Park & Cape Town is the classic South Africa trip. Go on a Big Five safari on guided game drives in an open off-road vehicle. After an excursion to the famous Panorama Route, head to the Cape, where you will first get to know fine wines and good cuisine in the scenic wine regions of South Africa. Great beaches, steep cliffs and seasonal whale watching opportunities await you on the south coast near Hermanus. The Mother City Cape Town with the mighty Table Mountain and the beautiful Cape Peninsula is the final destination.

Our chauffeur-driven tours are the cheaper alternative to privately guided tours. They can also be started daily and are as individual as rental car tours, with the difference that you do not have to drive yourself. Private English-speaking transfers take you from station to station, where you take part in private activities and excursions (with the exception of game viewing activities). Our chauffeur-driven tours can start from two people, but are also ideal for larger groups (e.g. families, friends) who want to keep to themselves. We are happy to modify this tour itinerary according to your individual wishes. Please contact us for your personal offer.

DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG

ONEWAY FLIGHT TO HOEDSPRUIT

A domestic or regional flight is the fastest and most convenient way to cover longer distances in southern Africa. Thanks to various competitors, there is a dense network of scheduled flights to a total of more than 25 airports. All local airlines fly with modern aircraft that meet the highest safety standards and are of course regularly maintained, just like in Europe.

The flight is operated in Economy Class. Depending on the airline, only one piece of checked baggage weighing 20kg to 23kg and one piece of hand baggage are permitted per person. You will receive details with your travel documents. Additional baggage, seat reservations and other services can be booked at very reasonable prices. We recommend arriving at international airports such as Windhoek, Victoria Falls, Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town at least two hours before departure; at smaller regional airports, 90 minutes is sufficient.

DAY 1: HOEDSPRUIT

ONEWAY TRANSFER TO KARONGWE

This private transfer is operated by a qualified English-speaking driver. The vehicle is air-conditioned and corresponds to your private group size, there are no other passengers. The transfer company has all the necessary licenses and insurance for its vehicles and drivers to guarantee legal passenger transportation (no Uber or similar).

In the case of a transfer from your accommodation, you will be picked up at the entrance of your guesthouse, lodge or hotel at the agreed time. You will be driven to your destination and dropped off at your accommodation or at the airport.

For transfers from the airport, you will be met personally in the arrivals hall. Please look out for a person carrying a sign with your name on it. If an explicit pick-up point or meeting point is mentioned in your tour book, please go there. You will be driven to your destination and dropped off at your accommodation.

DAY 1 TO DAY 3:

HOEDSPRUIT

Your destination is the private Karongwe Game Reserve in Kruger National Park, which is home to the Big Five as well as all other African wildlife. In contrast to the state-run Kruger Park, only overnight guests have access to the private reserves. These are therefore much better suited to a short stay for unique game viewing. The small lodges also offer a very personal atmosphere. Specially trained rangers ensure a first-class nature experience.

The exclusive Becks Safari Lodge is the flagship of the Karongwe Game Reserve and consists of only ten spacious and detached safari suites, which combine luxury with modern design and face the Makhutswi River or a waterhole. The suites have a shower/WC with separate bathtub, air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities, a minibar, a mosquito net over the bed, a safe and a veranda with an outdoor shower and seating. The lodge offers an oversized infinity pool with viewing deck, a lounge, a bar, a restaurant, a boma (traditional campfire dining area) and free Wi-Fi.

For each overnight stay you take part in two guided game drives in an open off-road vehicle (English-speaking, participation with other people), which take place in the afternoon before dinner and in the morning before breakfast.

You will be picked up at your lodge in the private game reserve at 08:00 (please note the exact pick-up time in your tour book). You will arrive at your accommodation in Hazyview at around 5 pm. The upscale accommodation The Zarafa is located in the middle of beautiful bushveld near Hazyview, very close to the Kruger Park and the attractions of the Panorama Route. You stay in one of five private Asian-style villas, which are equipped with a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, a minibar, a TV, a safe, a tea/coffee maker, a lounge area with a fireplace and an outdoor terrace with a private plunge pool and views of the natural surroundings. One villa has two separate bedrooms. The accommodation offers a restaurant, a bar, a spa area (for a fee) and free WiFi.

DAY 5 TO DAY 7:

POSITION BOSCH

Stellenbosch is the heart of South African wine production. Countless wine estates are lined up next to each other, and you can get to know South Africa's fine wines at one or two wine tastings. The scenically impressive mountain ranges offer unique hiking opportunities. The second oldest city in the country has a beautiful historic city center with many listed buildings in the Cape Dutch architectural style. Cafés, restaurants and boutiques invite you to stroll and linger. Thanks to the local university, Stellenbosch is a very lively and young city, despite its historical background.

The award-winning Jordan Wine Estate is located northwest of Stellenbosch with a unique view of the surrounding mountain ranges. The Mediterranean climate with maritime influences from the nearby ocean allows excellent Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots and Syrahs to thrive on the red side and Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs on the white side. But it's not just the wines that are outstanding. The winery's own restaurant and the Cellar Door Bistro are among the best in the region (reservations recommended). Twelve luxurious suites are available for overnight guests. All suites have a bathroom/WC, a TV, air conditioning, a Nespresso machine, a safe, a minibar, a lounge with a fireplace, a terrace with a view and free Wi-Fi. In addition to the most important historical events, you will learn about the locals' love for their food. For example, you will taste locally produced bread, cheese, sausage, coffee, ice cream and cakes.

At lunchtime, the journey takes you out into the scenic vineyards of Stellenbosch. You will stop at two hand-picked wine estates to get an overview of the diverse South African wine selection during wine tastings under expert guidance. On request, your guide will recommend a nice restaurant for a lunch stop (lunch optional). You will be dropped off at your accommodation in the afternoon.

The tour continues to the "whale capital" of South Africa, Hermanus. Here you have the best opportunities to watch whales from the coast between June and November. Of course, you can also take a boat trip out to sea to get even closer to the largest mammals on earth. But Hermanus also has a lot to offer outside the whale season in the South African summer. There are excellent beaches, great restaurants and the Fernkloof Nature Reserve, a unique nature reserve with typical fynbos vegetation and many hiking trails. Even winegrowing has now left its insider status here in the Coastal Region. Over 30 wineries have joined together to form various wine routes.

The luxurious 7 on Marine Guesthouse is located on the famous Cliff Path and within walking distance of the small center of Hermanus with many restaurants and shopping opportunities. From June to November you have excellent whale watching opportunities directly from your accommodation. The ten rooms all have a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, a minibar, a TV and a tea/coffee station. The Courtyard Suites are approximately 30 square meters in size and have access to the courtyard with whirlpool and garden loungers (no sea view). If you are lucky, you may also spot dolphins, penguins, sharks and seals during the trip.

The tour is in English and is conducted with additional people. A small refreshment is included in the price.
