Entry requirements

Germans and many other European nationals receive a visa on entry for a tourist stay of a maximum of three months. A machine-readable passport must be presented. Machine-readable children's passports are also accepted for children. However, updated or extended children's passports and entries in the parents' passports are not accepted. The following fees must be paid in cash on entry: US$ 30 for single entry, US$ 45 for double entry or US$ 55 for multiple entry.

Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay and have at least two consecutive blank pages for entry and exit stamps. For entries with transit flights via South Africa or return flights via South Africa, please note that both the South African and Zimbabwean immigration authorities require that at least six blank pages are still available in each passport. All persons entering the country must be in possession of the necessary return or onward tickets as well as sufficient funds for their stay.

Minors who have a different surname to the parent traveling with them should carry appropriate documents to prove the relationship (e.g. an international birth certificate).

If you have been in a yellow fever area before entering the country, you must provide proof of a yellow fever vaccination. There is an exception for transit travelers whose transfer time does not exceed twelve hours.
