As the signposting on the island is quite poor, we recommend that you use offline maps. PREMIUM ATOL ARRIVAL SERVICE

As an SA Travel customer, you are something very special and enjoy a very special service from the moment you arrive. You will be greeted at the gate by a friendly member of staff from the ATOL Lounge. This employee will accompany you through immigration and guide you through the "fast track" to the baggage carousel. After you have identified your suitcase, you will go through customs and then be taken to the counter of our partner agency SEGA Tours.

A member of staff from our partner agency La Maison Ojas will contact you after your arrival via Whats App (English-speaking). If necessary, she will arrange a meeting with you at your accommodation.

During your stay booked through us, she will always be your competent contact for any questions and organizational matters that may arise.

DAY 1: MAURITIUS

PRIVATE TRANSFER HOTEL - AIRPORT

This private transfer is operated by a qualified English-speaking driver. The vehicle is air-conditioned and corresponds to your private group size, there are no other passengers. The transfer company has all the necessary licenses and insurance for its vehicles and drivers to guarantee legal passenger transportation (no Uber or similar).

In the case of a transfer from your accommodation, you will be picked up at the entrance of your guesthouse, lodge or hotel at the agreed time. You will be driven to your destination and dropped off at your accommodation or at the airport.

For transfers from the airport, you will be met personally in the arrivals hall. Please look out for a person carrying a sign with your name on it. If an explicit pick-up point or meeting point is mentioned in your tour book, please go there. You will be driven to your destination and dropped off at your accommodation.

DAY 1 TO DAY 5 (APPROX. 80 KM):

GRAND BAIE

The north of Mauritius is the most popular and best developed area of the island. The landscape is dominated by flat and seemingly endless plains and gentle hills; only south of Pamplemousses do varied mountains rise up. One advantage in the north is the short distances to the tourist centers of Port Louis and Grand Baie, as well as to the island's most famous attraction, the Botanical Gardens in Pamplemousses. A pleasant climate and little wind are further advantages of this very lively region.

This lovingly and individually designed boutique hotel is located on the turquoise-blue lagoon near Grand Baie. Nestled in a small garden with numerous coconut palms, you will find romantic corners for quiet, undisturbed moments.

Activities: Included are windsurfing, kayaks, snorkeling, laser sailboat, Hobie Cat, trial diving, board games, bike rental. For a fee: water skiing, parasailing, diving (PADI/CMAS) and kitesurfing. There is also a small wellness area (treatments may be available for a fee).

DAY 3: MAURITIUS

SUNSET CRUISE NORTH COAST (WITH TRANSFERS)

As the day fades into evening, embark on a fascinating sunset tour. The horizon becomes a canvas, painted in breathtaking shades of orange and pink. Watch the sun set and the enchanting twilight emerge.

The tour lasts around 2 hours, is conducted in English and takes place with non-group participants. The transfer from and to the accommodation is included.

DAY 5 TO DAY 8 (APPROX. 70 KM):

CHAMAREL

In the south, Mauritius shows its boisterous side. Wind and waves sometimes lash violently against the tropical coast, cloud towers chase over the steep mountain slopes, peaceful fishing villages almost make you forget the modern tourism on Mauritius. The bright green, flat sugar cane fields in front of towering, forested mountain ranges are a feast for the eyes. The varied south is ideal for panoramic tours.

The small, family-run Lakaz Chamarel Lodge is located in the southwest of the island and is surrounded by the beautiful evergreen Black River National Park. You can reach the village of Chamarel on foot in about 10 minutes. A hotel shuttle runs to the beach 3 times a day, subject to availability.

HOTEL: Relaxation lounge, a library, a bar, two swimming pools and an open-plan restaurant.
ACTIVITIES: The lodge has a small spa where massages are offered (for a fee). There are also group yoga classes 4 times a week - private classes can also be booked for a fee. There is also a small fitness room and bicycles for hire.
20 rooms: the standard rooms (approx. 50 sqm) have an open-plan bathroom with outdoor shower, hairdryer, ceiling fan, minibar, coffee/tea maker, safe, iPod docking station, telephone and a veranda with a view of the shared pool, which invites you to linger. The Superior Suites (approx. 80 sqm) are more spacious and overlook the second pool. The Mountain & Garden Pool Suites (90 sqm) have their own pool with the same facilities and the Sea View Pool Suites (105 sqm) have their own pool and sea view.

The "7 Cascades Hike" takes you into the heart of Mauritius. In around 3 hours, you will hike along the various waterfalls in the magnificent greenery of the island. Along the way, you will enjoy the breathtaking views of the magnificent landscape and have the opportunity to take a dip in the cool water of the pools - so be sure to bring your swimming gear!
The excursion ends with a typical Mauritian picnic and you return to your accommodation.

The tour is in English, lasts about 3 hours and can be done with other participants from outside the group. The meeting point is at 09:30 at Henrietta bus station. The transfer from/to the accommodation can be booked on request.

DAY 7: MAURITIUS

PRIVATE DOLPHIN CRUISE

Today you embark on an unforgettable boat tour to observe dolphins. We glide across the water in search of these playful marine companions in their natural habitat. We observe their cheerful nature and create memories that will stay with us for a long time. While we stay close to the dolphins, we can enjoy this indescribable experience.

The tour takes about 5 hours including transfer from your accommodation on the west coast. You will be picked up at 09:30 am. The tour is privately guided and English-speaking (German-speaking on request and at an extra charge). Included are a BBQ lunch, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and the transfer. You will be dropped off at your accommodation at around 2:30 pm.

The rental car will be collected from the accommodation on day 9.

DAY 8 TO DAY 12 (APPROX. 50 KM):

BELLE MARE

Between Poste Lafayette and Trou d'Eau Douce, there are miles of dream beaches in a tranquil setting. A picturesque mountain backdrop rises up in the south. The east is pristine, authentic and still untouched by tourism. A popular excursion destination is the offshore island of Île aux Cerfs, which can be reached by boat from Trou d'Eau Douce.

The Constance Prince Maurice is idyllically situated on the north-east coast of Mauritius and is set on 60 hectares of private land, which is completely untouched, protected from the winds and offers guests the utmost privacy. Exotic plants flourish in the tropical gardens and the blue lagoon blends perfectly with the green hinterland and white sandy beaches. In the western part of the resort there is a fish reserve, which underlines the unique beauty of this corner of the world.
HOTEL: An infinity pool invites you to relax. Culinary excellence awaits you in three different restaurants. There are also 3 bars and a wine cellar at your disposal.
SPORT / LEISURE: The hotel offers a wide range of leisure activities. The water in this bay is very calm and crystal clear, so even "non-snorkelers" will get their money's worth. Next stop are the islands of Ile aux Aigrettes and Ile au Phare. CAR RENTAL CONDITIONS FROM FIRST CAR RENTAL

The following services are included in the price: unlimited free mileage, accident/theft insurance without excess (incl. tires, roof, windscreen, underbody damage), liability insurance up to 10 million euros, one spare wheel, one additional driver, local taxes and fees.

Petrol, toll, deposit, delivery and collection costs of about 500 MUR per way (payable in cash on delivery). Navigation device approx. 220 MUR per day (we recommend navigation with free offline maps), child seat (price on request).

The following services are not included in the price and may be charged locally: Delivery and collection costs on request, navigation device 120 ZAR per day (we recommend navigating with the free offline maps from Google).

To rent a vehicle, you will need a valid credit card issued to the main driver, an international driver's license and a passport. Each driver must have held a driver's license for at least two years. The deposit will be paid by credit card and will not be charged if the vehicle is returned with a full tank of fuel.

The local car rental company reserves the right to provide models of equal or higher value. The rental car mentioned is only an example of the confirmed vehicle class. The rates to be paid on the spot in MUR are determined by the local car rental company and may vary without notice.

APPROXIMATE ADDITIONAL COSTS THAT ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE

Long-haul flights to Southern Africa in Economy Class cost from EUR 900, while prices can be well over EUR 1000 in the high season. Flights in Premium Economy Class are available from 1500 EUR, in Business Class flights cost from 2500 EUR (per person for outward and return flights). All prices are average values depending on the airline and season. The actual prices at a given time depend on the number of bookings and may vary. Early booking is recommended, especially in the high season.

A liter of fuel (petrol or diesel) costs about 1 EUR. Allow around EUR 24 for fuel for this trip.

Entrance fees to national parks cost between EUR 5 and EUR 25 per person per day, depending on the size and popularity of the park. Entrance fees to museums or other attractions cost between EUR 3 and EUR 20 per person. Children under the age of 12 usually pay half price.
