MEET & GREET

Welcome to the sunny island of Mauritius!

A member of staff from our partner agency La Maison Ojas will contact you after your arrival via Whats App (English-speaking). If necessary, she will arrange a meeting with you at your accommodation.

During your stay booked through us, she will always be your competent contact for any questions and organizational matters that may arise.

DAY 1: MAURITIUS

This private transfer is operated by a qualified English-speaking driver. The vehicle is air-conditioned and corresponds to your private group size, there are no other passengers. The transfer company has all the necessary licenses and insurance for its vehicles and drivers to guarantee legal passenger transportation (no Uber or similar).

In the case of a transfer from your accommodation, you will be picked up at the entrance of your guesthouse, lodge or hotel at the agreed time. You will be driven to your destination and dropped off at your accommodation or at the airport.

For transfers from the airport, you will be met personally in the arrivals hall. Please look out for a person carrying a sign with your name on it. DAY 1 TO DAY 6 (APPROX. 60 KM):

ALBION

Would you like to experience an authentic Mauritius, away from mass tourism?

Then this tour is just right for you! You will spend the night in a small lodge about 5 minutes' drive from a beautiful sandy beach in a sheltered bay near Albion in the west of the island. The typical Mauritian breakfast is served every day from 07:30. Whether pineapple or an egg from the farmer down the road, all products support the local economy. The emphasis here is on fresh ingredients!
Over the next few days, you will discover the authentic Mauritius and all necessary transfers are already included.
You will visit the capital, go on a hike in the south of the island and explore the bay of Mahebourd by water. You will also visit a sugar cane plantation and be initiated into the secrets of rum making.
Every evening, your hostess awaits you with an authentic dinner on the terrace of your lodge. Please refer to the days listed below for the detailed program. The activities are in English, on request and for an extra charge most activities can also be offered in German.

Afterwards, relax in a beach hotel or resort of your choice.

DAY 2: ALBION

WILD SOUTH HIKE

The day starts with a hike in the south of the island.
You meet your group at the agreed meeting point and explore the south coast. Along the sea, always accompanied by a pleasant breeze, the colors mix: the blue of the sea, the white of the sand with the green of the waterfalls and the vegetation.
This walk is a leisurely stroll. After a dip in the waterfall, we continue to the natural swimming pool - so don't forget your swimsuit!
The excursion ends with a typical picnic lunch.

DAY 3: ALBION

CULTURAL TOUR

Today you will experience the capital of the island - Port Louis.
Meet your group at the agreed meeting point and off you go.

You immerse yourself in a very lively city, pass the vegetable market and then stroll through the streets like the locals, in search of small fruit vendors and local delicacies. On the way, you will stop at a Hindu temple, whose vibrant architecture and intricate carvings attract worshippers and visitors alike. Lunch is taken in picnic mode so you can discover the local flavors of the specialties. Keep your camera handy while doing so!
The second part of this tour takes us to a Chinese master's house that landed in Mauritius some 30 years ago. You will experience a ceremonial way of preparing and drinking tea. Apart from serving and receiving the tea, one of the main purposes of the tea ceremony is for the guests to enjoy the hospitality of the host in an atmosphere that is different from the fast pace of everyday life.

DAY 4: ALBION

CANOE TOUR

Mauritius by water is the motto today, but not with a speedboat, but in a wonderfully
You will sail through the island's most beautiful lagoon at a leisurely pace in a canoe: Mahébourg!
Meet your group at the agreed meeting point and off you go.
Snorkeling, aperitif on the Ile aux Aigrettes, a visit to the Ile de la Passe and the Ile au Phare. Finish with a BBQ on a private island just for you! The canoe will allow you to move silently and if you are lucky, you may see our giant sea turtles in the passage! A wonderful excursion to soak up the sun, sea, salt and fresh air! Don't forget your sunscreen, a cap or hat, your sunglasses and snorkeling gear.
The fish and lobster for the BBQ are fresh and caught in Mauritian waters.

DAY 5: ALBION

TOUR OF ST. AUBAIN HOUSE

Saint Aubin House was built in 1819. It was home to several sugar plantation managers before being renovated in the 1990s to preserve part of its Mauritian heritage. Today you can still see the beams and masts that were used in the original construction.
You start the day with a guided tour and learn the interesting stories about Saint Aubin House and the plantation. Sugar cane is grown here, which is then processed into sugar and delicious rum. You will also visit the vanilla greenhouse and learn about its cultivation and processing.
You will also have the opportunity to stroll through the tropical and spice garden.
Enjoy a delicious lunch in a colonial ambience at Le Saint Aubin restaurant with an appetizing 3-course lunch. You end the tour with a tasting of the different types of rum.

DAY 6: ALBION

ANOU KWI EXPERIENCE

Anou Kwi" is an authentic experience (in English) where you will discover traditional Mauritian cuisine, following grandmother's traditional recipe.
Today we start with a visit to the local bazaar to buy all the ingredients. Back at home, we start preparing the dishes together.
A real moment of joy, because food creates connection! Of course, the delicious dishes are tasted afterwards.

Between Poste Lafayette and Trou d'Eau Douce, there are miles of dream beaches in a tranquil setting. A picturesque mountain backdrop rises up in the south. The east is pristine, authentic and still untouched by tourism. A popular excursion destination is the offshore island of Île aux Cerfs, which can be reached by boat from Trou d'Eau Douce.

The Sunrise Attitude is located on the east coast of Mauritius and is only separated from the white sandy beach "Belle Mare", which is one of the most beautiful on the island, by a small coastal road. With your feet in the sand, you can spend your beach vacation casually in the bar and restaurants of the adults-only hotel. The transfer time to the airport is around 60 minutes.

Long-haul flights to Southern Africa in Economy Class cost from EUR 900, while prices can be well over EUR 1000 in the high season. Flights in Premium Economy Class are available from 1500 EUR, in Business Class flights cost from 2500 EUR (per person for outward and return flights). All prices are average values depending on the airline and season. The actual prices at a given time depend on the number of bookings and may vary. Early booking is recommended, especially in the high season.

Entrance fees to national parks cost between EUR 5 and EUR 25 per person per day, depending on the size and popularity of the park. Entrance fees to museums or other attractions cost between EUR 3 and EUR 20 per person. Children under the age of 12 usually pay half price.
