About this tour
On our boutique tours, you travel as a couple, family or group of friends with your personal, experienced tour guide (either in German or English), who also acts as your driver. Almost all trips can be started daily, and we are also happy to tailor the itinerary to your individual wishes. You will spend the night in lodges, guest houses, permanent tents, guest farms and hotels, which offer you an authentic Namibian experience. Each guest house is unique, so that even the rooms are not completely identical and therefore have a special charm. Many small guest houses are former homes - here you will literally feel "at home". The warm hospitality of your hosts and the attention to detail in the furnishings make a stay in one of our personally selected guest houses and lodges a unique experience.

About the vehicle
You travel in a vehicle with special safari seats that provide more comfort. As in a coach, everyone has a single seat with adjustable armrests and above-average seat spacing. The seats are ergonomically shaped and covered with cotton fabric, guaranteeing a pleasant travel experience on longer journeys.

Day 1: Windhoek (approx. 45 km)
Welcome to the capital Windhoek. Your German-speaking tour guide will greet you at the international airport. The city is situated in the Windhoek Basin, the approximate geographical center of the country, bordered by the Eros Mountains in the east, the Auas Mountains in the south and the Khomas Highlands in the west. The name Windhoek is Afrikaans and is derived from "windy corner". If time permits, you will go on a city tour during which you will visit the most important sights such as Christ Church, the Equestrian Monument, the Ink Palace and the Old Fortress. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Take a stroll through Windhoek or visit one of the museums before having dinner with your guide in a restaurant.

HEINITZBURG (COMFORT DELUXE ROOM)

Just a five-minute drive from the city center, with magnificent views over the city and the Khomas Highlands, lies Hotel Heinitzburg. This hotel offers you the unique opportunity to stay in a luxurious castle hotel. The view of the lights of Windhoek from the restaurant and its terrace is as spectacular as the African sunsets. The castle was built around 1914 by Count von Schwerin for his fiancée Margarethe von Heinitz and offers a luxurious and elegant setting for your stay. International cuisine is served in the in-house restaurant with a view over the skyline, accompanied by fine wines from the country's largest private wine cellar, which was built into the rocks. Relax in the garden and by the pool, also with views over the city.
The 16 rooms are spacious, elegant and individual, and no two are the same. They are equipped with a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, hairdryer, TV, radio, telephone, safe and minibar.

Day 2: Sesriem (approx. 330 km)
Today's journey takes you to the south-western part of Namibia. You drive through the Khomas Highlands and over the breathtaking Spreetshoogte Pass to Solitaire. From there you continue towards Sesriem. The Namib is the oldest desert in the world. It is around 20 million years old and appears very hostile at first glance. This is probably why Namib means "empty place" or "place where there is nothing". Nevertheless, there are some animals and plants that can survive here under extreme conditions, such as the oryx antelope or the desert plant Welwitschia Mirabilis. Enjoy the endless expanse of this natural landscape, relax by the pool on arrival, go on a hike or take part in a sundowner drive (English-speaking, with additional people).

NAMIB OUTPOST LODGE (SUITE)

Namib Outpost Lodge is situated approximately 30 kilometers south-east of the entrance to Sossusvlei, in the middle of the 7,000 hectare private nature reserve of Desert Homestead Lodge. The lodge is picturesquely situated at the foot of a mountain and offers an impressive panoramic view. Built on a platform, the thatched main building houses a restaurant, lounge and bar. Outside, a panoramic terrace and a swimming pool invite guests to linger. Namib Outpost has a total of 12 chalets, one of which is suitable for families. The main area is connected to the main building, which stands on a platform, via paths. The chalets are equipped with a double bed with mosquito net, air-conditioning, storage facilities and a bathroom with shower and toilet. Each unit also has a private, covered terrace and a sun terrace, which can be reached via a small staircase. Here you can enjoy the view of the vast, open desert plains and, with a bit of luck, watch wild animals roaming through the endless grassland.

Day 3: Sossusvlei
In the morning you set off early for the highest dunes in the world. Sossusvlei is a clay depression surrounded by dunes. It is only filled with water in years when the Tsauch River, which flows into it, receives enough rain in its catchment area. As far as the eye can see, dunes stretch up to over 300 meters high with sharp contours, smooth sandy surfaces and majestic "peaks" in the middle of a shimmering pearl band of salt pans. You will also visit the Dead Vlei. Characteristic are the many dead acacia trees that dried up when the Tsauchab, an ephemeral dry river, changed its course. The trees rot very slowly. Some of these trees are over 500 years old. Before leaving the park, take a detour to the Sesriem Canyon.

Day 4: Omaruru (approx. 500 km)

Today you can expect a longer day's stage through the diverse landscape of the region. You will travel through the northern part of the Namib Naukluft Park to your next stop, the Spitzkoppe. It is one of the most photographed mountain motifs in Namibia, as this inselberg rises suddenly from a relatively flat environment to a height of 700 meters, while the sea level is 1728 meters. The Spitzkoppe (also sometimes called Spitzkuppe) is also known as the Matterhorn of Namibia due to its striking shape, which can be seen from afar as an imposing elevation in the plain. This region is ideal for hiking and exploring. Countless animal and bird species also await you. The rock formations are particularly beautiful at sunrise and sunset, when the sun bathes everything in glowing colors. On this afternoon, you have the opportunity to go on a guided hike for a fee (English-speaking, with additional people).

SPITZKOPPEN LODGE (STANDARD ROOM)

Spitzkoppe Lodge is located on the north side of the beautiful Spitzkoppe, nestled among the massive granite rocks with views of the Brandberg and the Erongo Mountains, about 50 kilometers northwest of Usakos. The main building, which houses the dining room, lounge, and cozy bar, is situated a short distance from the reception area. The use of glass, light-colored wood, canvas, and floor-to-ceiling windows gives the building an airy and welcoming character and offers an almost 360-degree view of the granite rocks, which are illuminated at night. A wooden staircase leads to the wooden sun deck with a fire pit and the natural rock pool, which invites you to take a refreshing dip. Here, you can enjoy the breathtaking landscape in a stylish setting. You can participate in various activities such as bike tours or hikes on-site for a fee (tours are conducted in English and take place with other participants). The 15 stylishly furnished chalets, built from wood and canvas, were constructed on wooden platforms to minimize their environmental impact. Each chalet features an en-suite bathroom. Large windows on either side of the mosquito-netted beds—as well as the wide glass door—guarantee an unobstructed view of the vast landscape. This view can also be enjoyed from your own covered veranda. The lodge features a pool, a bar, a restaurant, and a lounge.

Day 5: Etosha National Park (approx. 300 km)
After an early hike on your own or a leisurely breakfast, continue north. The drive takes you via Outjo to the vicinity of Etosha National Park. On arrival you have some time at leisure. Relax by the pool before enjoying a wonderful dinner together in the evening.

ETOSHA OBERLAND LODGE (STANDARD ROOM)

Etosha Oberland Lodge, situated at the southern entrance to Etosha National Park, combines luxury with plenty of privacy. The main house is nestled in a large garden with a terrace and private seating areas under large mopane trees. From here you have a fantastic view of the wide grassy plains and the waterhole, where you can watch wild animals and relax over a sundowner drink at the end of an eventful day.
The spacious double guest houses are lovingly integrated into the natural surroundings. All the houses are positioned in such a way that you hardly notice your neighbors and therefore promise a lot of privacy. Game drives into the Etosha National Park are offered for a fee (English-speaking and with additional persons). The 15 rooms have bath/shower, outdoor shower, air conditioning, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, mosquito nets, safe, sun terrace with a view. The accommodation offers a restaurant and a bar with terrace, as well as a lounge, a pool and WiFi.

Day 6: Etosha National Park
You will cross the Etosha National Park from south to east with your guide. You will have the opportunity to make exciting animal observations at the waterholes. Due to the great diversity of the landscape, many different animal species can be found here. The park is home to four of the Big 5: elephants and lions are common, while the hard-to-see leopard is found in the more densely vegetated areas. One of the main reasons to visit Etosha National Park is the healthy population of black rhino. In the afternoon you arrive at the lodge at the eastern entrance to the park.

ONGUMA THE FORT (BUSH SUITE)

Onguma The Fort in the private Onguma Game Reserve faces the famous Etosha National Park and enchants its guests with the most beautiful sunsets in Namibia. Built as a fort, the lodge is one of the most extraordinary luxury accommodations in the country. The accommodation combines African elements with Moroccan and Indian influences and offers a fantastic view of the Etosha salt pans and a lively waterhole. A large door leads into the beautifully decorated lounge with fireplace and then into the open-air dining room. From here you continue onto a wooden veranda, from where you can enjoy a fantastic view of the waterhole. Two large pools as well as a sun deck and a well-stocked wine cellar are also among the advantages of the lodge. Free Wi-Fi is available in the main area and in the guest suites. The suites are each 50 meters apart and offer complete privacy. They are equipped with air conditioning, a fireplace and en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers.
Day 7: Etosha National Park (approx. 210 km)
Today you will go on a day trip in a tour vehicle to Etosha National Park. This is unique within Africa. The main feature of the park is the salt pan, which can even be seen from space. Despite this, there is an abundant wildlife population that congregates at waterholes, so animal sightings are almost guaranteed. In addition, Etosha National Park is one of the most accessible reserves in Namibia and Southern Africa. You can make breathtaking animal observations from the vehicle. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 8: Divundu
You set off early on this day, as a long day's stage awaits you. From the beautiful Etosha National Park, you continue north, passing the small town of Rundu. Rundu lies 1,095 meters above sea level on a scenic hill on the south bank of the Okavango in the flat, northern Kalahari basin. The Okavango River serves as the border to the Republic of Angola to the north and is the lifeline for the Kavango people, who live from fishing and farming. There is a border crossing across the river and a ferry connection to the town of Calai on the Angolan side. The journey continues eastwards into the Caprivi Strip. It stretches as far as the Victoria Falls in the east and the Chobe National Park in Botswana to the south. In the afternoon you arrive at the beautiful lodge and on arrival you can relax by the pool or take part in a sunset boat trip (English-speaking, with additional persons).

DIVAVA OKAVANGO LODGE & SPA (STANDARD ROOM)

The Divava Okavango Resort & Spa on the Okavango River is surrounded by majestic trees and is only a few hundred meters away from the Popa Falls in the Caprivi Strip. The lodge offers a combination of wilderness and luxury and is stylishly integrated into nature. A spacious main house with a cozy lounge with bar and a restaurant awaits you. From the large terrace, you have a beautiful view over the Okavango flowing at the foot of the lodge. The Divava Okavango Resort & Spa is also known for its spa treatments. Whether massages, body wraps or a visit to the steam bath: you can let your gaze wander over the vast river landscape from all the treatment rooms. A pool with comfortable loungers invites you to relax after a game drive.
The 20 chalets - all with fantastic views over the Okavango River - are elegantly furnished and air-conditioned. They were built on wooden stilts directly on the riverbank and have a spacious veranda. Other facilities include large, comfortable beds with mosquito nets, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities. The spacious bathroom impresses with a free-standing bathtub with a view, a double washbasin, a separate toilet, an indoor shower and an outdoor shower for a very special shower experience.

Day 9: Divundu (approx. 620 km)
This morning you will go on a game drive with your guide into Mahangu National Park. At around 24,000 hectares, Mahangu National Park is one of the smallest parks in Namibia. The park is home to a large variety of species, including the "Big 5", as well as riverine fauna and over 400 different bird species.
You then drive back to your lodge and in the afternoon you take part in a boat tour (English-speaking, with additional people), going downstream in small or large boats, where you will see hippos, crocodiles, an enormous variety of colorful birdlife and much more! The guide will tell you all you need to know about the amazing nature and wildlife in and around the river. Shortly before sunset, we then head upstream to the Popa Falls rapids, from where you can enjoy the sunset with a refreshing drink and snacks. You will then round off the evening with a good meal.

Day 10: Mahangu National Park (approx. 230 km)
The journey continues north-east to Nambwa Tented Lodge on the western bank of the Kwando River. The lodge is located in the Caprivi in the Bwabwata National Park. This puts Nambwa in the heart of the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, one of the most diverse and extraordinary regions in southern Africa. The headland stretches over 450 kilometers, bordering Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana in the far northeast of Namibia. Nambwa combines an unforgettable safari with exclusivity and comfort in the midst of untouched nature. In the afternoon, you can take part in one of the included activities, including day and night game drives, boat trips, bush walks and a visit to a traditional Mayuni village (English-speaking, with additional persons).

NAMBWA TENTED LODGE (TENTED SUITE)

The luxurious Nambwa Tented Lodge is located in the middle of untouched nature. The 10 exclusive tented suites are connected by a wooden walkway in the canopy of the sprawling trees. The natural colors of the lodge radiate peace and relaxation. The main building is the heart of the lodge and offers a majestic viewing deck with a view of the endless expanse. With a bit of luck, you can spot elephants, buffalo and numerous bird species from here. The main area of the Nambwa Tented Lodge includes a boma, a pool, an excellent restaurant where you can enjoy meals outside the restaurant on the spacious viewing deck at any time. There is a library with books on the flora and fauna of the region. There is also a bar, a romantic fireplace on a separate viewing deck and a small souvenir store. Here you also have access to WLAN.
The 10 tented suites all have their own bathroom/WC and a lounge. The suites are designed in such a way that privacy is guaranteed. The viewing terrace in front of your tent invites you to enjoy exciting game viewing and beautiful views of the landscape. They also have a mosquito net, a safe and a tea and coffee station.
Day 11: Kongola
Exciting activities await you today, such as boat trips, game drives or bush walks (in English and with other participants), which are offered from the lodge. We recommend a game drive in the Bwabwata National Park, home to numerous large and small mammal species (for example: Herds of elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, galagos - the so-called bush baby - African wild dogs and many more) and more than 300 bird species. Bird lovers can look forward to seeing many rare and indigenous bird species.

Day 12: Kasane (approx. 260 km)
Today you continue across the border into Botswana to Chobe National Park. This is located in the north-east of Botswana in the border area with Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Chobe was the first national park to be established in the country after independence. Here you say goodbye to your tour guide. In the evening, your first boat tour (English-speaking, with additional persons) takes place on the Chobe River. Chobe National Park is home to huge herds of elephants and an area full of scenic contrasts. Boat trips on the Chobe River are a must here!

MUCHENJE SAFARI LODGE (BUNGALOW)

Muchenje Safari Lodge, situated at the western end of Chobe National Park, offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Chobe River and its floodplains. The intimate lodge not only offers fantastic views, but also excellent service in a family atmosphere. The lodge can accommodate a maximum of 20 guests, who are accommodated in spacious chalets. In the main area of the lodge there is a lounge, bar, viewing platform, dining area, reception, souvenir store and a small reading corner. The stone-built swimming pool also boasts a spectacular view of the river. Each of the 10 chalets is exquisitely furnished in African style and has a private balcony with a wonderful view. The chalets are equipped with shower/WC, air conditioning, fan, coffee/tea maker, fridge, safe, mosquito net and hairdryer.

Day 13: Chobe National Park
You will also spend today at the Ngoma Bridge. Very early in the morning, you will set off on a game drive in an open off-road vehicle (English-speaking, with additional persons) into Chobe National Park. This park is home to around 120,000 elephants as well as giraffes, lions, sable and roan antelopes, hippos, crocodiles, cheetahs, leopards and wild dogs. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to relax by the pool before enjoying a sunset boat tour on the Chobe River in the evening (English-speaking, with additional persons). With a bit of luck, you will have the opportunity to watch elephants swimming.

Day 14: Victoria Falls (approx. 90 km)
On this day, you will take a transfer to the Kazungula border crossing. Here you leave Botswana and enter Zimbabwe. Please remember to have the dollar amount for the visa ready. Now it is not far to the tourist town of Victoria Falls, home of the famous and mighty Victoria Falls! The mighty Zambezi River plunges over 100 meters into a gorge that is only 50 meters wide. The entrance to the falls is not far from your hotel. There is a beautiful walkway to get there, but always keep your eyes open, as elephants often roam through this area. At the famous Victoria Falls, you will learn a lot about the formation and discovery of the falls on a guided tour (English-speaking, conducted with other people). Viewpoints always offer spectacular new vistas.

BATONKA GUEST LODGE (STANDARD ROOM)

Batonka Guest Lodge is quietly situated in a beautiful garden on the outskirts of Victoria Falls. The Victoria Falls and the town center can be reached on foot in about 20-30 minutes. The dining room, a cozy sitting area and the small souvenir store are located in the main area. Depending on guests' wishes and weather conditions, dinner is served either indoors in the restaurant or on the beautiful terrace overlooking the swimming pool. The 22 rooms are decorated in African style and are lovingly and comfortably furnished in light tones. They are all equipped with an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and double washbasin, mosquito nets over the beds, flat screen TV with ten satellite channels, fan, air conditioning, minibar with complimentary water, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, elect. Day 15: Return journey
The morning is at your leisure. The more adventurous can book a helicopter tour (English-speaking, with additional people) on site for a fee and get a bird's eye view of the true size of the waterfalls. Enjoy the view and this unique experience. Alternatively, you can spend the morning relaxing by the pool or shopping for souvenirs at the market in Victoria Falls. Then it's time to say goodbye! You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Victoria Falls Airport in time for your return flight.
