This safari is ideal for anyone traveling to Namibia for the first time - a country full of contrasts and scenic drama. From the deep red sand sea of the Namib to the wildlife of the Etosha National Park - experience the diversity of this unique country on a journey that combines both a spirit of discovery and relaxation.
Our journey begins in the capital Windhoek and takes you over the imposing Spreetshoogte Pass into the lowlands of the Namib Desert. The highest dunes in the world await you at Sossusvlei - a magical play of colors in the morning light. Along the coast, we reach charming Swakopmund with its colonial architecture and fresh Atlantic breeze. Via the wild Damaraland with its rock engravings, table mountains and desert elephants, we finally reach the famous Etosha National Park, before the safari ends with easy hikes on the impressive Waterberg.
The tours are led by a competent, German-speaking guide and are conducted with a maximum of 10 tour participants. This is an active tour with a number of fantastic hikes. You don't need to be particularly fit, but you do need to be in good physical condition.
Custom-built off-road vehicles are used for the tour, which offer a high level of comfort on Namibia's unpaved roads and also make it possible to discover the country off the beaten track. The vehicle has large sliding windows for each row of seats and a practical lifting roof for a clear view on safaris.
For the lunch break, we set up our safari chairs in a nice shady spot in the middle of the great outdoors and a beautifully laid table in the African bush. We carry supplies for a rustic outdoor lunch in an electrically operated cool box, which also has enough space to cool drinks. A water tank on the vehicle supplies us with water where there is normally no tap.
The accommodation on the lodge safaris is simple, beautiful and varied - from lovingly run guest farms to lodges in spectacular locations. You will spend the night in comfortable rooms or permanent tents with private bathroom/WC.

We reach the impressive Spreetshoogte Pass through the hilly farmland of the Khomas Highlands. The pass is very steep in places, but offers a fantastic view of the lowlands from the upper edge. If you want, you can hike down the pass road, from where it is only a few kilometers to a very nice lodge with warm hosts at the foot of the Spreetshoogte Pass. The lodge is a beautiful spot in the middle of the steppe landscape and invites you to relax and take a walk.

DAY 3: NAUKLUFT NATIONAL PARK & HIDDEN POOLS (APPROX. 220KM)
After a leisurely breakfast, we drive along the Naukluft Mountains - a paradise for nature lovers. Wind and sun, heat and cold, drought and rain have created a fantastic rocky landscape that is home to kudus, mountain zebras, klipspringers, baboons and leopards. Here we can take a one-hour hike to the uniquely beautiful pools on the Waterklooftrail. We then arrive at our beautiful desert accommodation, which will be our home for the next two nights.
OVERNIGHT: Elegant Desert Camp

DAY 4: SOSSUSVLEI & SESRIEM CANYON
Early in the morning we make our way to the world-famous red dunes at Sossusvlei. From the entrance to the Namib Naukluft Park, we drive about 60 km through the dune landscape, with the last 10 km being an absolute four-wheel drive route. The play of light and shadow, especially in the early morning hours, is unique and the color spectacle in the middle of this endless sandy landscape is unforgettable. After returning from Sossusvlei, we discover the nearby Sesriem Canyon on a one-hour hike before ending the day with a sundowner.

During a two-hour hike, we will discover many of these early works of art. In a traditional Damara village, we will then be shown how hides are tanned and spearheads are made, which plants are edible, and how fire is lit with fire sticks. The visit ends with dancing and singing, and shortly afterwards we will arrive at our beautiful lodge.
