ABOUT THIS TRIP

South Africa is the ideal destination for honeymooners (and those who have been or want to be). There is a wide range of romantic accommodation and activities. Experience the highlights of the malaria-free Cape Peninsula and Garden Route for lovers. Of course, the Big Five in a private game reserve at Addo Elephant Park are not to be missed. For this tour, we have handpicked top accommodation in the Superior Plus category. Please note that most accommodations usually only have one honeymoon suite and it is therefore advisable to book early.

We are happy to change this tour itinerary or the rental car category according to your individual wishes. Please contact us for your personal offer. You should allow just under two weeks for this trip. We recommend starting this trip in the South African summer from September to April. A four-wheel drive vehicle is not necessary for this trip, but a vehicle with a higher wheelbase is definitely helpful.

DAY 1 TO DAY 4:

CAPE TOWN

You will receive your rental car on arrival at Cape Town Airport or at the agreed station. Welcome to the Mother City. Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. To get an overview, your first excursion should be to Table Mountain. A drive along Chapmans Peak Drive, an impressive coastal road that leads past the penguin colony at Boulders Beach to the Cape of Good Hope, is also a must. On the way, you can visit the oldest wine estates on the Cape in Constantia. The V&A Waterfront is inviting with its countless stores and restaurants. The ferries to the former prison island of Robben Island also depart from here. On weekdays, you can explore the city center, the colourful Bo-Kaap district and the Company's Garden on foot without hesitation.

This luxurious Victorian villa is located in the quiet suburb of Oranjezicht below Table Mountain with a great view of the city and the harbor. The city center and the Table Mountain cable car station are just a few minutes' drive away. The beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton as well as the V&A Waterfront can be reached in about 15 minutes by car. There are several cafés and restaurants within walking distance. The accommodation offers a garden with pool, a lounge and a roof terrace with unique views of the city and Table Mountain. The nine rooms have a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, a minibar, a tea/coffee maker, a safe, a TV, free WLAN and a view of either the city and the harbor or Table Mountain. The Grand Rooms are slightly more spacious than the Luxury Rooms.

DAY 4 TO DAY 6:

POSITION BOSCH

Stellenbosch is the heart of South African wine production. Countless wine estates are lined up next to each other, and you can get to know South Africa's fine wines at one or two wine tastings. The scenically impressive mountain ranges offer unique hiking opportunities. The second oldest city in the country has a beautiful historic city center with many listed buildings in the Cape Dutch architectural style. Cafés, restaurants and boutiques invite you to stroll and linger. Thanks to the local university, Stellenbosch is a very lively and young city, despite its historical background.

You will spend the night at Wedgeview Country House in the middle of the Stellenbosch vineyards. Countless wine estates are right on the doorstep. The old town of Stellenbosch can be reached in around ten minutes by car. The spacious grounds consist of several buildings, a large garden and two pools, one of which is solar-heated. The accommodation also offers a restaurant, a bar, a lounge, an outdoor terrace and a spa area (for a fee). The 21 rooms all have a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, a TV, a minibar, a tea/coffee maker, a safe, a balcony or veranda and free WiFi. DAY 4: STELLENBOSCH

FULL BODY AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE

Whether for a very special occasion or simply to celebrate love, a treatment together at Wedgeview Spa is a wonderful experience. The full-body aromatherapy massage is a slow and relaxing massage with aromatic oils. You can choose between different aromas with different therapeutic effects.

The treatment lasts around 60 minutes. As spa guests, you can of course also use the fitness room and the large solar-heated pool at Wedgeview Country House.

DAY 5: STELLENBOSCH

FULL DAY PRIVATE HONEYMOON HIGHLIGHT TOUR

You will be picked up at your accommodation in the morning by your private English-speaking driver and wine expert. You set off on a romantic day trip to the wine regions of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. You will stop at very special wine estates to get to know the outstanding fine wines of the region.

The focus of this day tour is on the small and romantic boutique wineries away from mass tourism, which are particularly suitable for honeymooners. In addition to the region's famous red and white wines, you will also taste the excellent sparkling wines, some of which are produced using the champagne method.

Depending on the season, you can enjoy a leisurely picnic at a renowned vineyard in summer or stop off at one of the many great restaurants in winter.

In the afternoon, you have the option of taking part in a romantic horseback ride through the vineyards for an additional charge (prior reservation required). In the afternoon, you will either be dropped off at your accommodation.

The costs for wine tasting are already included in the price. However, the costs for lunch and other drinks as well as for the horse ride (if desired) are not included in the price. Please note that not all wineries may be open on weekdays or at certain times of the year.

This is a privately guided day tour and the program can be adapted to your individual wishes in advance. Certain special requests may lead to price surcharges. The tour can also be conducted in German for an additional charge.

DAY 6 TO DAY 8:

ROBERTSON

Robertson is an up-and-coming wine-growing region in South Africa with many interesting wineries and restaurants. Klipdrift is home to one of South Africa's most important brandy distilleries. In addition to wine growing, fruit and olive plantations as well as dairy and cheese farms play an important role. Strolling through the town's avenues, you can admire the many Victorian houses with their beautiful front gardens, especially in October and November when the numerous jacaranda trees are in glorious purple bloom. The small Drosdy Museum is well worth a visit, and the Dutch Reformed Church in the center is a real eye-catcher. The location on the mighty Breede River at the foot of the imposing Langeberg Mountains is unique. Boat trips are offered on the Viljoensdrift vineyard. Hiking enthusiasts will get their money's worth at the Van Loveren vineyard.

The Fraai Uitzicht 1798 winery is remarkable in three respects. Owner Sandra Papesch's restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best in the wider area. The fantastic four-star guest house is located in a paradisiacal setting in the vineyards. Cellar master Karl-Uwe Papesch has been conjuring up remarkable wines for 15 years. The nine suites and cottages are spread across the spacious grounds and all offer a bathroom/WC, air conditioning (not in the Vintage Cottages), a minibar, a tea/coffee maker and a private entrance with terrace and seating. The Superior Garden Suites can accommodate two people. The Vintage Cottages are located in the historic wine cellar building and can accommodate four people. The Luxury Cottages are very spacious and also offer a lounge area with fireplace and an oversized bathroom. The guest house is set in a large garden overlooking the vineyards and has a pool, an outdoor terrace, a restaurant and free Wi-Fi.

The Robberg Nature Reserve is one of the most beautiful coastal reserves on the entire Garden Route. After around four hours, you will be dropped off at your accommodation in Knysna.

The tour language is English, no other people take part. Drinking water and entrance fees are included in the tour price. This is a moderate hike, you should be sure-footed. Sturdy shoes, clothing suitable for the weather and sun protection are essential. The hike can be started at 9:00 am or 2:00 pm.

DAY 10 TO DAY 12:

TSITSIKAMMA

The Tsitsikamma National Park is the largest contiguous forest area in South Africa and is ideal for hiking or relaxing. The hiking trails always offer fantastic views of the dense forests and the endless sea. At the Storms River Restcamp in the eastern part of the park, you can take short boat trips on the river of the same name. The famous Suspension Bridge, a suspension bridge over the river, is also located here. Various long hiking trails start directly at the camp. The western part, the Natures Valley, also offers beautiful nature and the best hiking opportunities. With a bit of luck, you can even spot whales (seasonal) and dolphins from land.

You will spend the night at The Fernery Lodge in a private nature reserve just east of the Storms River. From the lodge you have a breathtaking view over the Indian Ocean, the gorge of the Sanddrift River and the dense forests. There are seven lodge rooms in the main building and 13 detached chalets set slightly apart, all of which have en-suite bathrooms, a TV, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities. The Premier Suite has a fireplace and a deck with sea views. The Premier Rooms have a deck overlooking the gorge or the sea. The Lodge Rooms have a veranda with access to the garden. DAY 12 TO DAY 14:

GREATER ADDO

The private Amakhala Game Reserve is located near the Addo Elephant Park in a malaria-free environment. The reserve is home to the Big Five, i.e. lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo and rhinos, as well as many other African wild animals. The 8500-hectare reserve on the Bushmans River offers a beautiful landscape typical of the Eastern Cape. In contrast to the state-run Addo Elephant Park, only overnight guests have access to the private reserves. These are therefore much better suited for a short stay for unique game viewing. The small lodges also offer a very personal atmosphere. Specially trained rangers ensure a first-class nature experience.

In a secluded and particularly wildlife-rich part of the reserve, the bush lodge, which consists of just eight luxury tents, offers pure peace and relaxation. Each of the spacious tented suites has a bathroom/WC with free-standing bathtub and double shower, air conditioning, minibar, tea/coffee maker, fireplace and a private viewing deck with outdoor shower and plunge pool. The lodge offers a large viewing deck with a fireplace, a pool, a bar, a restaurant, a fireplace lounge and free Wi-Fi.

For each overnight stay you take part in two guided game drives in an open off-road vehicle (English-speaking, participation with other people), which take place in the afternoon before dinner and in the morning before breakfast.
