ABOUT THIS TRIP
South Africa is the ideal destination for honeymooners (and those who have been or want to be). There is a wide range of romantic accommodation and activities. Experience the highlights of the malaria-free Cape Peninsula for lovers. Of course, Africa's impressive wildlife in a private game reserve is not to be missed. For this tour, we have hand-picked top accommodation in the Superior Plus category. Please note that most accommodations usually only have one honeymoon suite and it is therefore advisable to book early.
We are happy to change this tour itinerary or the rental car category according to your individual wishes. Please contact us for your personal offer. You should allow just under two weeks for this trip. We recommend starting this trip in the South African summer from September to April. A four-wheel drive vehicle is not necessary for this trip, but a vehicle with a higher wheelbase is definitely helpful.

You can also watch whales here from June to November.

DAY 3 TO DAY 5 (APPROX. 180 KM):
CLANWILLIAM

You continue to the Ceder Mountains. In addition to countless interesting mountain formations and beautiful valleys, there are also an impressive number of rock paintings by the San, the indigenous people of South Africa. A paradise for hikers and mountain bikers. The famous rooibos tea, which only grows in a small area here, is also harvested in the Cederberg. You have the opportunity to try different types of tea during a tasting. If you wish, you can also take part in a guided tour of the plantation. In the South African spring, you can marvel at the wildflowers here.
The luxurious Cederberg Ridge Lodge is located around ten minutes' drive outside the small village of Clanwillian and overlooks the endless expanse of the Cederberg Wilderness Reserve. The lodge offers plenty of peace and relaxation as well as a variety of activities (some for a fee), such as hiking, mountain biking, stargazing, boat trips, farm tours and excursions to the rock paintings, wildflowers (seasonal) and into the mountains. DAY 5 TO DAY 7 (APPROX. 230 KM):
POSITION BOSCH

Stellenbosch is the heart of South African wine production. Countless wine estates are lined up next to each other, and you can get to know South Africa's fine wines at one or two wine tastings. The scenically impressive mountain ranges offer unique hiking opportunities. The second oldest city in the country has a beautiful historic city center with many listed buildings in the Cape Dutch architectural style. Cafés, restaurants and boutiques invite you to stroll and linger. Thanks to the local university, Stellenbosch is a very lively and young city, despite its historical background.
Just outside Stellenbosch on the scenic Helshoogte Pass lies this small but very fine wine estate and luxurious boutique hotel with breathtaking views of the Simonsberg Mountains. Overnight guests can choose from 15 hotel rooms, suites and villas, all of which are equipped with bath/WC, flat-screen TV with DVD player, air conditioning, Nespresso machine, iPod station, minibar, balcony or terrace, safe and free WLAN. The hotel rooms are located in the main building and differ mainly in terms of room size. The villas and suites are located slightly away from the main building. DAY 6: STELLENBOSCH
FULL DAY PRIVATE HONEYMOON HIGHLIGHT TOUR

You will be picked up at your accommodation in the morning by your private English-speaking driver and wine expert. You set off on a romantic day trip to the wine regions of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. You will stop at very special wine estates to get to know the outstanding fine wines of the region.
The focus of this day tour is on the small and romantic boutique wineries away from mass tourism, which are particularly suitable for honeymooners. In addition to the region's famous red and white wines, you will also taste the excellent sparkling wines, some of which are produced using the champagne method.
Depending on the season, you can enjoy a leisurely picnic at a renowned vineyard in summer or stop off at one of the many great restaurants in winter.
In the afternoon, you have the option of taking part in a romantic horseback ride through the vineyards for an additional charge (prior reservation required). In the afternoon, you will either be dropped off at your accommodation.
The costs for wine tasting are already included in the price. However, the costs for lunch and other drinks as well as for the horse ride (if desired) are not included in the price. Please note that not all wineries may be open on weekdays or at certain times of the year.
This is a privately guided day tour and the program can be adapted to your individual wishes in advance. Certain special requests may lead to price surcharges. The tour can also be conducted in German for an additional charge.
DAY 7 TO DAY 9 (APPROX. 200 KM):
MONTAGU SANBONA WILDLIFE RESERVE

The 54 000 hectare Sanbona Game Reserve is situated in the heart of the Little Karoo at the foot of the Warmwaterberg between Montagu and Barrydale off the famous Route 62. Sanbona offers you relaxation, luxury and safari in the realm of the Bushmen of South Africa. The name is made up of the word "San", as the Bushmen are called, and the word "bona" as a sign of the indigenous people's hope for this land, where they lived freely for thousands of years. This is because former farmland was converted into a reserve here in the 1990s and returned to nature. Now, for the first time in 200 years, lions and cheetahs can be seen living freely in the Klein Karoo in the game reserve. But with a bit of luck, you can also spot the other representatives of the Big Five and many other African wild animals here.
The luxurious White Lion Lodge is located in the southern part of the Sandona Wildlife Reserve, nestled in the beautiful landscape. The four detached chalets each offer a spacious bedroom with a magnificent view, a spacious bathroom with shower and bathtub, minibar, tea/coffee maker, air conditioning, fireplace, underfloor heating and a private terrace. The lodge has a dining area, an outdoor veranda and a pool.
For each overnight stay, you will take part in two guided drives in an open off-road vehicle (English-speaking, participation with other people), which take place in the afternoon before dinner and in the morning before breakfast. In the afternoon it is a nature tour and in the morning a game drive. The entrance fees (conservation fees) to the reserve are payable locally.

DAY 9 TO DAY 11 (APPROX. 200 KM):
HERMANUS

The tour continues to the "whale capital" of South Africa, Hermanus. Here you have the best opportunities to watch whales from the coast between June and November. Of course, you can also take a boat trip out to sea to get even closer to the largest mammals on earth. But Hermanus also has a lot to offer outside the whale season in the South African summer. There are excellent beaches, great restaurants and the Fernkloof Nature Reserve, a unique nature reserve with typical fynbos vegetation and many hiking trails. Even winegrowing has now left its insider status here in the Coastal Region. Over 30 wineries have joined together to form various wine routes.
This luxurious guest house is located on Hermanus' famous Grotto Beach with unobstructed views of the sea. In summer you can relax on the Blue Flag award-winning beach, in winter you can watch whales from your room. Several cafés and restaurants are within walking distance. The center of Hermanus is about ten minutes away by car. The modern guest house offers an outdoor terrace with sea view, a lounge area with bar and fireplace, a courtyard with pool and sun loungers as well as free WiFi. The five rooms have a bathroom/WC, a minibar, a tea/coffee maker, a safe, a fan, underfloor heating and a TV with DVD player. The Deluxe Rooms have a terrace with a limited sea view. The suites are more spacious and offer a terrace or balcony with a full sea view.
