DAY 1 TO DAY 3:

KRUGER PARK

Kruger Park is the largest and most famous national park in South Africa, covering an area roughly the size of the Netherlands. It is home to more than 150 different mammals including the so-called "Big Five", i.e. lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. Over 500 different bird species as well as many reptiles and amphibians make the Kruger Park the ultimate wildlife experience. For a short stay, the southern part of the park is preferable, as the animal population there is much larger than in the northern part.

The Hamiltons Tented Camp is arguably the best-known and most famous classic tented camp for discerning guests in all of South Africa. It is located on a 10,000-hectare private concession directly within Kruger National Park. The camp was built to ensure the least possible impact on the natural environment. With its high-quality furnishings and outstanding service, the camp carries on the glorious safari tradition of days gone by. You can look forward to delicious meals, fine wines, and a cozy bar. The camp’s six luxurious tented suites feature a bathroom with toilet, air conditioning, mosquito nets, an observation deck with a private plunge pool, a lounge area, and free Wi-Fi. You drive to the private Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The approximately 65,000-hectare reserve is located to the west of the Kruger Park and consists of several private reserves. There are no fences within the Sabi Sand Reserve or towards the Kruger Park, so that the animals can move freely. The varied landscape is home to a spectacular population of game including the legendary 'Big Five' - lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes - as well as cheetahs, wild dogs and some 200 other mammal species.

Savanna Lodge offers an exclusive, personal and authentic safari experience. Benefit from the extensive knowledge of the guides and learn a lot about the flora and fauna of the African bush. The lodge offers you plenty of space to relax. The 8 suites are nestled in the natural surroundings and have a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, telephone, safe, tea and coffee station, minibar, mosquito net, private deck with a small pool and an outdoor shower. The lodge offers a large deck with a pool, a floodlit waterhole, a bar, a wine cellar, a boma and a souvenir store.

DAY 3: KRUGER PARK

FROM KRUGER CENTRAL TO HAZYVIEW VIA THE PANORAMA ROUTE

On the drive from Kruger Park to Hazyview, you’ll discover the highlights of the Panorama Route. Of course, God’s Window and the world-famous Blyde River Canyon are on the itinerary, along with breathtaking views of the Three Rondawels and the Lowveld. In the charming little town of Graskop, you’ll have the option to visit Graskop Gorge. The region is known for its countless waterfalls, some of which you’ll also get to see.

You will be picked up in the morning at your lodge in the private game reserve (please note the exact pickup time in your tour book). You will arrive at your accommodations in Hazyview around 5:00 p.m. All entrance fees and meals are not included in the price and must be paid by you on site as needed. The tour is conducted in English and may be shared with other participants. The tour takes place in a closed vehicle.

DAY 3 TO DAY 4:

HAZYVIEW

Hazyview is ideally located between the scenically unique Panorama Route and the world-famous Kruger Park. From here you can take day trips to the Blyde River Canyon, the Bourkes Luck Potholes and various waterfalls as well as to the Big Five and all other African wildlife. It is also possible to discover the highlights of the Panorama Route or the Kruger Park on the way to or from the private game reserves.

The exclusive Summerfields Rose Retreat & Spa is located between Sabie and Hazyview, very close to Kruger National Park and the attractions of the Panorama Route. Discerning travelers will find luxury in harmony with nature here. Guests stay in one of 14 freestanding suites spread across the spacious grounds, all of which feature a bathroom with toilet, air conditioning, tea and coffee-making facilities, a hair dryer, a minibar, a safe, and free Wi-Fi. The twelve Tented Suites feature an outdoor shower or bathtub and a small veranda accessible from the entrance. The Upmarket Suites are spacious, permanent accommodations with a private veranda and an outdoor shower. They also feature a freestanding bathtub in the room and a workstation. DAY 4 TO DAY 6:

BADPLAAS

The landscape of this region impresses with mountain ranges, wide river valleys and impressive grasslands. The highveld and lowveld meet between Badplaas and Barberton. The climatically temperate Highveld is the high plateau plain that extends as far as Johannesburg. The subtropical Lowveld stretches from northern Zululand-Natal via the Kruger Park to Mozambique. The region is home to Bushman rock paintings and a number of geological features, such as the oldest and largest meteorite impact in the world.

The malaria-free Nkomazi Private Game Reserve is still considered a true hidden gem. The 15,000-hectare game reserve features just one exclusive lodge, far from the usual tourist crowds, and is home to four of the Big Five (only the rhinos are missing). All 14 luxurious tented suites are situated on freestanding platforms and feature a bathroom with toilet, a large sun deck with a plunge pool and an outdoor shower/bathtub, air conditioning, tea and coffee-making facilities, a minibar, and a safe. The Deluxe Tents measure approximately 40 square meters and offer views of the reserve. The Luxury Tents are also about 40 square meters in size and offer a view of the Komati River. The Honeymoon Tents are about 80 square meters in size and are situated slightly off to the side along the Komati River. The Family Tent consists of two separate tent suites built on a platform. DAY 6 TO DAY 8:

ULUNDI

Your destination is the approximately 20,000ha Babanango Private Game Reserve near Ulundi in the Highveld of the northern KwaZulu-Natal. The mountainous reserve with peaks of up to 1400m is malaria-free and is home to the Big Five as well as many other African wild animals. Over 450 cultural and historical sites dating back to the South African aborigines have been identified to date. In addition to classic game viewing, visitors also learn a lot about the history, nature and geology of the region. Babanango is a community project in which the surrounding local communities are involved.

The exclusive Madwaleni River Lodge is located in a secluded valley within the reserve, directly on the White Imfolozi River. The twelve opulent, freestanding tented suites feature a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, a minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, a lounge area, and an outdoor deck with seating, a private plunge pool, and stunning views. The Family Tent consists of two connected tented suites. The Romance Tent is set back from the other tents and also offers an outdoor shower and outdoor bathtub. Your destination is the private Manyoni Game Reserve near Hluhluwe in northern KwaZulu-Natal, which covers around 24,000 hectares. The reserve is home to the Big Five and many other African wild animals. In contrast to the state-run Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park, only overnight guests have access to the private reserves. These are therefore much better suited to a short stay for unique game viewing. The small lodges also offer a very personal atmosphere. Specially trained rangers ensure a first-class nature experience.

The exclusive Leopard Mountain Lodge is perched on a hilltop and offers breathtaking views of the African bush, the Msunduze River in the valley, and the mighty Lebombo Mountains in the background. The nine detached luxury chalet suites feature an open-plan bathroom with a shower and separate toilet, air conditioning, a minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, and a veranda with an outdoor shower, seating, a hammock, a private plunge pool, and stunning views. Your destination is the Munywana Safari Conservancy near Hluhluwe in northern KwaZulu-Natal, which covers around 30,000 hectares. The game reserve, which borders the iSimangaliso Weiland Park, emerged from the three private reserves of Phinda, Zuka and Bumbeni, with Phinda still holding the largest share. It is home to the Big Five as well as many other African wild animals. In contrast to the state-run Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, only overnight guests have access to the private reserve. This is therefore much better suited to a short stay for unique game viewing. The small lodges also offer a very personal atmosphere. Specially trained rangers ensure a first-class nature experience.

The luxurious Phinda Mountain Lodge is situated on top of a mountain ridge with fantastic views of the valley below. The 23 cottages and suites have a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, a minibar, a tea/coffee maker, a safe and a veranda with seating, an outdoor shower and a private plunge pool. The cottages are about 65sqm in size, the suites about 115sqm. The family units are more spacious and have two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom/WC. BALLITO

The cozy vacation resort of Ballito is located around 40 km north of Durban on the warm Indian Ocean with its endless golden beaches. The so-called Dolphin Coast offers year-round bathing pleasure. It is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Nevertheless, the city of Durban with Shaka Marine World and the Moses Madhiba World Cup Stadium can be reached in just under 45 minutes by car. The Gateway Shopping Center in Umhlanga, South Africa's largest mall, can be reached in around 30 minutes by car.

The luxurious Sala Beach House is located directly on the beach in the small district of Shakas Rock and offers a breathtaking view of the sea. The seven modern and individually furnished rooms and suites have a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, a minibar, a tea/coffee maker, a TV, a safe and a balcony or terrace with seating. The Pool View Rooms are located on the first floor with direct pool access and overlook the sea. The Ocean View Rooms are located on the first floor and overlook the sea. APPROXIMATE ADDITIONAL COSTS THAT ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE

Long-haul flights to Southern Africa in Economy Class cost from EUR 900, while prices can be well over EUR 1000 in the high season. Flights in Premium Economy Class are available from 1500 EUR, in Business Class flights cost from 2500 EUR (per person for outward and return flights). All prices are average values depending on the airline and season. The actual prices at a given time depend on the number of bookings and may vary. Early booking is recommended, especially in the high season.

A light lunch costs about 5 EUR (small salad, soup) to 8 EUR (pizza, pasta, burger) per person; dinner costs about 10 EUR (pizza, pasta, burger, large salad) to over 12 EUR (steak, fish) up to 22 EUR (three-course meal) per person. Coffee, tea, beer, or soft drinks cost about 1.70 EUR per cup or glass. Prices may vary up or down depending on the region or type of restaurant.

Entrance fees to national parks cost between EUR 5 and EUR 25 per person per day, depending on the size and popularity of the park. Entrance fees to museums or other attractions cost between EUR 3 and EUR 20 per person. Children under the age of 12 usually pay half price.
