Day 1: Welcome to South Africa (approx. 30 km)
You will be met at Cape Town airport by your personal tour guide and drive to the nearby small town of Stellenbosch, the heart of South African wine growing. The second oldest town in the country has a beautiful historic town center with many buildings in the Cape Dutch architectural style. Cafés, restaurants and stores invite you to stroll and linger. Or simply relax in your beautiful guest house after your journey.
In the evening, we will reserve a table for you at Jordans Restaurant, if it is open for dinner. Alternatively, you can head for a nice restaurant in the old town of Stellenbosch. (Dinner and drinks payable locally)
Overnight stay with breakfast - Jordan Wines Suites (Deluxe Suite) in Stellenbosch
Your Stay at th
Located northwest of Stellenbosch with a unique view of the surrounding mountain ranges lies the award-winning Jordan Wine Estate. But it’s not just the wines that are outstanding. The Jordan Restaurant, led by Head Chef Marthinus Ferreira, is among the best in the region. Overnight guests receive a complimentary bottle of the estate’s own wine. The 12 luxurious suites feature a bathroom, TV, air conditioning, a Nespresso machine, a safe, a minibar, a lounge with a fireplace, and a terrace with a view. The lodge offers a restaurant, a café, a garden, and a wine cellar with wine tastings.

Day 2: Stellenbosch Winelands
Today you will discover the wine estates of the Western Cape to get to know the excellent wines of the region. The first winery is the classic Simonsig Estate, known for its Methode Cap Classique (Champagne method) sparkling wines, but there are also great red and white wines here. At the next stop, you have the choice between Kanonkop Estate (ideal for red wine lovers with great Pinotage) or La Bonheur Estate (ideal for white wine lovers). Continue up the breathtaking Helshoogte Pass to the small but fine Oldenburg Estate, a family business that focuses on quality rather than quantity. The red classics such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah dominate here, but the Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay are also worthy of note. The ultra-modern Tokara winery is also located on the Helshoogte Pass. The restaurant is one of the best in the region, where you can enjoy a first-class lunch (optional, payable on site) with spectacular views. We will be happy to make a reservation for you on request. The day ends with a visit to the Rust En Vrede wine estate, which is one of the top 100 wine estates in the world and is picturesquely situated on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains. The winery is mainly known for its great red wines. You arrive back at your accommodation in the late afternoon and can relax at the end of the day. Today you will enjoy your dinner as a sophisticated picnic on the terrace of your room.

Day 3: French charm in Franschhoek (about 40 km)
Today you’ll continue your journey to Franschhoek via the spectacular Helshoogte Pass. Grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Viognier dominate the vineyards here. Your first stop is the small Lynx Winery, a true hidden gem offering a very personal cellar tour (subject to availability, in English, conducted with other guests). The tour continues to what is perhaps Franschhoek’s finest winery, the Mullineux & Leeu Estate. For an optional lunch, the restaurant at the Haute Cabrière winery is a great choice; we’d be happy to make a reservation for you upon request. The day concludes with the wines of La Motte, the Cape Dutch classic in Franschhoek. Here, the Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah stand out in particular.
In the evening we have reserved a table for you at Epice Restaurant, which is one of the best restaurants in Franschhoek. (Dinner and drinks payable locally).
Overnight stay with breakfast - Chapter House Boutique Hotel (Deluxe Room) in Franschhoek
Where you stay
The elegant Chapter House Boutique Hotel is located in the heart of Franschhoek. Relax by the outdoor pool overlooking the Franschhoek Mountains or enjoy the scent of the rose and lavender garden on the veranda. The stylish lounge with fireplace invites you to read and the bar serves a selection of drinks. In-room spa treatments can be booked for an extra charge. The beautiful boutique hotel is within walking distance of restaurants, stores and galleries. The individually furnished rooms have a bathroom/WC, air conditioning, a TV, a safe, a tea/coffee maker and free WiFi. The individual room categories differ mainly in size and location within the accommodation. The Deluxe Rooms and Superior Rooms have a balcony or veranda.

Day 4: Robertson & the Breede River (approx. 130 km)
The journey continues to Robertson, the gateway to the Little Karoo. Impressive landscapes and interesting wineries line this up-and-coming wine region, waiting to be discovered. Your destination is the Viljoensdrift Winery, idyllically situated right on the Breede River. After a wine tasting, you can shop at the winery’s own store for a delicious picnic (food and drinks optional). Then board the Uncle Ben II for a relaxing boat ride down the river while enjoying your picnic lunch (in English, conducted with other participants). Afterward, if desired, a short stop can be made at the Mabrin Olive Farm, where you can sample various homemade olive oils before arriving at your guesthouse in the afternoon. In the evening, enjoy a first-class 3-course meal with paired wines at the Fraai Uitzicht Restaurant.
Overnight stay with half board – Fraai Uitzicht (Luxury Cottage) in Robertson
Your Stay at
The Fraai Uitzicht 1798 winery is remarkable in every way: the restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best in the wider area, the superb four-star guesthouse is beautifully situated among the vineyards, and the estate’s own wines can only be tasted and purchased here. The 10 rooms feature a bathroom/toilet, air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities, a veranda, and some have an outdoor shower. The guesthouse offers a pool, beautiful gardens, a restaurant, and a wine cellar.

Day 5: Hermanus (approx. 160 km)
After a relaxed breakfast, you set off for the Graham Beck wine estate, known for its first-class sparkling wines, some of which are produced using the champagne method. Here you will take part in a vintage tasting of the more upmarket sparkling wines. You then leave the interior of the country and head for the whale capital of Hermanus. The lively, small town directly on the famous Cliff Path invites you to stroll and linger, and during the whale season from June to November, the gigantic marine mammals can even be observed from land.
Optionally (for a fee), you also have the opportunity to take part in a whale watching boat trip in the afternoon (English-speaking, with additional people). This gives you the chance to get very close to the large marine mammals.
In the evening, we have reserved a table for you at Fishermans Cottage, a rustic restaurant in the town center. You won't find haute cuisine here, but the tastiest and freshest seafood dishes in the whole of Hermanus. (Dinner and drinks payable on site)
Overnight stay with breakfast - One Marine Drive Boutique Hotel (Superior Sea View Room) in Hermanus

The hotel features a pool, a bar, a spa area (for a fee), a restaurant, and a 24-hour concierge service.

Day 6: The wines of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley
The Coastal Region on the south coast near Hermanus is probably the most up-and-coming wine-growing region in South Africa at the moment and has long since overcome its status as an insider tip. The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley is particularly noteworthy. The cooler and more humid coastal climate favors white grapes in particular, but red grapes such as Pinot Noir and Pinotage can also be found here. The first stop is the Hamilton Russel Wine Estate, where you will taste the estate's own award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Continue to Bouchard Finlayson Wine Estate for a tasting of their premium Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs, followed by a light lunch (optional). In the afternoon, premium wine tastings at the La Vierge and Sumaridge wineries are on the program. In addition to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, there are also some interesting white and red blends to taste. The culinary finale is the Wine & Chocolate Pairing at Creation Wine Estate, which offers interesting red wines such as Merlot and Syrah in addition to white Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier.

Once in Cape Town, you’ll explore the city’s culinary highlights with your tour guide. During the week, you’ll experience the small, exquisite gourmet spots where usually only locals shop—far away from the usual tourist traps. Enjoy, for example, coffee, ice cream, bread, wine, or chocolate from small local producers. On the weekend, the famous food markets take place at various locations and are always worth a visit.
We have reserved a table for you this evening at Elgr Restaurant on Kloof Street, Cape Town’s up-and-coming hidden gem. (Dinner and drinks to be paid for on site)

After a tasting of the first-class wines, the on-site museum offers an even deeper insight into the history of winemaking in the Cape. The tour continues to the enchanting Buitenverwachting winery, whose granite soils, paired with a gentle sea breeze, produce wines celebrated worldwide. At noon, you’ll head to the renowned Steenberg Winery for a tasting; the estate is famous, among other things, for its Bordeaux-style cuvées. Alternatively (for a fee), you can spend this day with your tour guide to visit the famous Cape Peninsula on a day trip. First stop in Muizenberg and marvel at the colorful little houses that can be found on every postcard. Continue along False Bay via Kalk Bay to Simon's Town, where you will visit the famous penguin colony. You then drive to the Cape of Good Hope National Park with the Cape of Good Hope and via Chapman's Peak Drive, one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world, on to Hout Bay with its small fishing port.
