Our Types of Trips

Our tours in Southern Africa are divided into different types of travel. Everyone should make their choice based on their personal preferences. There are no objective reasons for or against any of the different types of travel.

Rental car trips

Our customized rental car tours, which can start any day, are a popular way to travel and can be tailored to your preferences in advance, no matter where you’re starting from. As a self-driver, you’ll explore the country on your own and can plan your daily itinerary based on your preferences. Of course, your travel documents will also include tips on sights along your booked route, a road atlas, and a travel guide. Our 24-hour on-site hotline is available to assist you throughout your trip.

Small group tours

On our small-group tours, you’ll travel with a maximum of eight people, guided throughout by an experienced German-speaking tour guide in an air-conditioned vehicle. Exceptions are the Drifters Camping and Explorer tours, which are conducted in English and carry a maximum of 16 participants in a non-air-conditioned safari truck. All small-group tours depart on fixed dates. The itineraries are set and can only be customized with pre- or post-tour activities.

Privately guided tours

Our privately guided tours are designed for pre-arranged groups (couples, families, friends) who want continuous, comprehensive support from their own German-speaking tour guide and do not wish to travel with other participants they do not know. The tour price varies depending on the size of your private group: the more people who participate, the more affordable the trip is for each individual. All privately guided tours can start any day and can be customized to your preferences in advance.

Chauffeur trips

You don’t want to drive yourself, but a small-group tour doesn’t have a suitable departure date, and you can do without the full-service support of a private tour guide throughout the trip? Then our English-speaking chauffeur-driven tours are exactly the right—and more affordable—alternative. Your private chauffeur will take you from place to place, where you’ll then participate in guided daily activities. All chauffeur-driven tours can start any day and can be customized to your preferences in advance.

Train safaris

A trip on the famous Rovos Rail is a very special experience. In one of the most luxurious trains in the world, you can discover Cape Town, KwaZulu-Natal or the Victoria Falls, for example, on various routes, with various excursion programs included. The Rovos Rail departs on fixed dates, the pre- and post-trip program can be adapted to your individual wishes.

Land and Air Safaris

Our English-language land and fly-in safaris, with daily departure options, are the ideal addition to an existing trip; they can also be combined to create a standalone trip. Private transfers will take you to your accommodations, where you’ll participate in guided activities. Flights make it easy to cover longer distances. Both the air and land safaris can be customized to your preferences in advance at any stage; there is no full-time tour guide.
